Following a healthy diet will help get your body the nutrients it needs, as well as help you maintain a healthy weight. This includes foods that are high in fiber, low in fat, and primarily plant based. Take a look at some of the foods you should (and shouldn’t) be eating to help you on the road to recovery. Drink Green Tea
Green tea offers many health benefits, and it is rich in catechins, an antioxidant known to help fight disease. Green tea has also been linked to improving blood flow and lowering cholesterol. Drink several cups of green tea each week to help support your body’s immune system.
Cut Back on Red Meat
Diets high in red meat have been connected to prostate cancer. Instead, introduce more fish into your diet, such as salmon or trout. Be sure to bake, grill, or poach the fish — avoid frying! For additional protein options, try increasing your intake of plant-based proteins such as nuts, beans, and flax, which also contain cancer-fighting nutrients.
Eat More Fruits and Vegetables
Be sure to eat plenty of fresh — preferably organic — fruits and vegetables such as broccoli, carrots, cabbage, kale, berries,
grapefruit, and tomatoes. These provide much-needed vitamins and antioxidants to help fight cancer and reduce inflammation.
Avoid Sugary Drinks
Cut out carbonated sugary beverages such as soda or other flavored drinks, which are harder for your body to process. Stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water to help flush your system of harmful substances while helping to speed up your metabolism.
